Korn, the self-titled debut studio album, was released in 1994. Themes included on the album are child abuse, drug abuse, and bullying.

“Daddy” was a song written about a painful experience (molestation) and the victim not being believed. Many assumptions were made about the song, and many years later Jonathan Davis, Korn’s lead singer, admitted the song was written about a family friend.

Korn’s guitarist, Brian “Head” Welch, and Korn’s bassist, Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, have become very outspoken about their Christian faith. Brian and his daughter, Jennea, were featured in a documentary entitled “Loud Krazy Love.”

“I had to put my kid before my career and all the money I was making. I decided to do the right thing. I was dying inside. If I didn’t have my daughter, I would be dead right now, for sure.” – Brian “Head” Welch

“Daddy”
song lyrics:

Mother, please forgive me
I just had to get out all my pain and suffering
Now that I am done, remember I will always love you
I’m your son

Little child, looking so pretty
Come out and play, I’ll be your daddy
Innocent child, looking so sweet
I’ll rape your mind and on your flesh I’ll eat

You raped!
I feel dirty
It hurt!
As a child
Tied down!
That’s a good boy
And #*$&%^!
Your own child
I scream!
No one hears me
It hurt!
I’m not a liar
My God!
Saw you watching
Mommy why?!
Your own child

Little child, looking so pretty
Come out and play, I’ll be your daddy

You raped!
I feel dirty
It hurt!
As a child
Tied down!
That’s a good boy
And #*$&%^!
Your own child

I scream!
No one hears me
It hurt!
I’m not a liar
My God!
Saw you watching
Mommy why?!

It’s alright

You raped!
I feel dirty
It hurt!
As a child
Tied down!
That’s a good boy
And #*$&%^!
Your own child

I raped!
No one hears me
It hurt!
As a child
Tied down!
No one hit me
And raped
Your own child

I scream!
No one hears me
It hurt!
As a child
Tied down!
That’s a good boy
And #*$&%^!
Your own child

I speak!
No one hears me
It hurt!
As a child
Tied down!
No one hears me
Mommy why?!
Your own child

I didn’t touch you there
Mama said she didn’t care
I didn’t touch you there
That’s why mama stopped and stared

Little child, looking so sweet
I’ll rape your mind and on your flesh I’ll eat

You raped!
I feel dirty
It hurt!
As a child
Tied down!
That’s a good boy
And #*$&%^!
Your own child

I scream!
No one hears me
It hurt!
I’m not a liar
My God!
Saw you watching
Mommy why?!
Your own child

You raped!
I feel dirty
It hurt!
As a child
Tied down!
That’s a good boy
And #*$&%^!
Your own child

I scream!
No one hears me
It hurt!
I’m not a liar
My God!
Saw you watching
Mommy why?!
Your own child

You raped!
I feel dirty
It hurt!
I’m not a liar
My God!
Saw you watching
Dirty one
Your own child

I scream!
No one hears me
It hurt!
I’m not a liar
My God!
Saw you watching
Mommy why?!
Your own child

You raped!
I feel dirty
It hurt!
I’m not a liar
My God!
Saw you watching
Mommy why?!
Your own child

I scream!
No one hears me
It hurt!
I’m not a liar
My God!
Saw you watching
Mommy why?!

I #*$&%^ hate you! #*$&%^!
#*$&%^! I #*$&%^ hate you! #*$&%^!
You son of a #*$&%^, you #*$&%^ ruined my life!
I wanted to die!
I’m sick of it, #*$&%^… oh, oh
Why’d you #*$&%^’ do it to me?

I hate you!
I #*$&%^’ hate you!
I hate you!
Why?!
I hate you!

To the Survivors is about my journey as a rape crisis counselor with true stories of sexual violence shared by survivors in their own words. Gently and beautifully constructed, To the Survivors is moving, tender, sharp, and piercingly true all at once.

Have you accepted Christ as your Savior?

If you would like to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, please pray the following prayer:

“God, I believe in you and your son Jesus Christ.  I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave to save me. Today, I invite Jesus into my heart to stay.  I make you Lord over my life. Make me new. Wash me, Lord, and cleanse me. In Jesus Name, Amen”

If you have just prayed that prayer, we want to celebrate your new victory with you.  Please contact us at prayers@oceanfloorministries.com so we can welcome you into the kingdom.  We don’t want you to have to walk alone and we have some resources we would like the opportunity to share with you.
