PODCAST GUEST

Jeff Rogers
Director of GO Serminary (Dominican Republic)
Jeff and his wife, Vicki, first discovered the power of international ministry when God turned their lives upside down on their first mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2001. The Rogers lived and served on the field for three years. In 2005 they moved back to the states and lived missionally for 5 years in the inner-city of Louisville, Kentucky, with their 3 daughters while serving the ministry state-side.
In 2013 the Rogers family moved back to the Dominican Republic where Jeff heads up pastoral care for the GO Staff, leads, develops and teaches in the GO Seminary of the Americas helping equip emerging church leaders for incarnational ministry and missional life as well as providing ongoing training to established pastors and local leaders.
Thad Cockerell, an American singer-songwriter who grew up in Tampa, Florida, released his first album, Stack of Dreams, in 2001. His unique sound, which blends folk, alternative rock/country, and gospel, gives his music its own identity and place. His career spans nearly 20 years, and his latest record is entitled If In Case You Feel The Same.
Cockrell’s 2009 LP, To Be Loved, is a personal endeavor that finds him pouring out his heart. According to Independent Weekly, the album is “a conflict-driven mix of love songs for Jesus and women. It laces gospel and country influences into gentle, loping tunes.” His style is so diverse even he admits he’s not always sure where it comes from.
“I want to write songs I don’t know how to write. That’s when I know I’m close to the good stuff.” – Thad Cockrell
“A Country Of My Own” song lyrics:
I’ve been searching for a country of my own
When I see her face, I know I’ll finally be home
Full of mystery and kept surprises
A vast expanse where a rich man pays
But to me she sympathizes
I’m searching for a country of my own
I’ve been searching for a place where I might stand
And I’ve been looking for that promised land
And I’ve been shouting from this mountain top but the frequencies are jammed
I’m just searching for a place where I might stand
When I’m asked about the situation
Of where it is I’ve been and where I’m bound
Well, I’ve got no home
I’ve got no home
But I’ve got a destination
I’ve been searching for a country of my own
I’ve been looking for a place that I’ll never feel alone
Every day is met with new horizons
City, where you meet no strangers, is a place you need no home
I’m just searching for a country of my own
When I’m asked about the situation
Of where it is I’ve been and where I’m bound
Well, I’ve got no home
I’ve got no home
I’ve got no home
But I’ve got a destination

Have you accepted Christ as your Savior?
If you would like to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, please pray the following prayer:
“God, I believe in you and your son Jesus Christ. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave to save me. Today, I invite Jesus into my heart to stay. I make you Lord over my life. Make me new. Wash me, Lord, and cleanse me. In Jesus Name, Amen”
If you have just prayed that prayer, we want to celebrate your new victory with you. Please contact us at prayers@oceanfloorministries.com so we can welcome you into the kingdom. We don’t want you to have to walk alone and we have some resources we would like the opportunity to share with you.
