Founder, Dead To Self Radio
In 2004, Thomas Johns founded “The Refinery Rock Radio,” a syndicated show that would ultimately become “Dead To Self Radio (D2S).” The station delivers high-quality Christian & positive rock from the 1970s up to today. Their mission is to be a source of safe, positive, and encouraging entertainment, and the name is derived from Colossians 3:5.
Johns not only programs the station but has also conducted many interviews and recorded a mix of several shows aired on D2S Radio. Check out their on-air schedule here.
Metal Church originally formed in 1980 and was briefly known as Shrapnel. The band’s career spans nearly 40 years and includes 12 studio albums.
Although not a Christian band, a good portion of their material focuses on the spiritual aspects of life, and founding member, Kurdt Vanderhoof (Rhythm/Lead Guitarist) is a believer.
Songs like “Betrayed,” “All Your Sorrows,” “Scream,” “Suffer Fools,” and many more carry with them narratives about the struggles, pain, and temptations found in this life. Their lyrics paint the need for our Savior and His Love.
