Author of Supestar, A Christian Fiction Novel

Christopher Long is a celebrated author, show biz analyst, award-winning musician, entertainment personality and international missionary. Referred to once as “the rock and roll Erma Bombeck,” Long is known for his conversational, common sense writing style and possessing a passion for sharing his unique pop culture perspectives.

The author of three non-fiction titles, A SHOT OF POISON (CG Publishing 2010), C’MON! (Digital Books International 2012) and SHOUT IT OUT LOUD (Digital Books International 2014), Long released his Christian fiction debut, SUPERSTAR in 2019 via Moonshine Cove Publishing. His next non-fiction title, DRUM JUNKIE, currently is in development.

Long also contributes lively content to the popular entertainment news outlets, Ink19.com and V13.net (formerly PureGrainAudio.com). He has written previously for MuenMagazine.net and the Florida-based print publications, BREVARD LIVE, THE BUZZ and JAM!

As an in-demand DJ, Long often can be found in an array of nightclub settings throughout Florida’s east coast and on various concert stages fronting his rock group, DL Serios or playing drums in the country band, Blue Diamond.

Cinderella, a Philadelphia-based rock band, caught their break in 1985. Signing a recording contract with Mercury/Polygram Records, they released their first studio LP, Night Songs, in early August ’86.

With massive MTV airplay, and an opening slot on Bon Jovi’s Slippery When Wet tour, Night Songs peaked at #3 on the US charts, and by May 1991, became a triple-platinum record, selling several million copies worldwide.

Musically, this song is high-energy arena rock at its fist-pumping best, and it hits hard. Lyrically, Tom Keifer speaks from the heart – boldly and transparently. He recognizes realities in life – seeking riches (only to discover it’s an “empty box”) and job security (but he gets “kicked out of his tree”).

In the end, he cries for “someone” to “save” him. It’s a “cry” that’s common to most. Fortunately, that “someone” is there for us. All we have to do is reach out to him, like Peter. And nobody can miss His grasp.”  – Christopher Long, author of the Christian Fiction novel, Superstar

“Somebody Save Me” song lyrics:

When I was a young boy,
they said you’re only gettin’ older.
But how was I to know then,
that they’d be cryin’ on my shoulder.

Put your money in a big house.
get yourself a pretty wife.
She’ll collect your life insurance,
when she connects you with a knife.

 Somebody get the doctor,
I’m feelin’ pretty poor.
Somebody get the stretcher before I hit the floor.

Somebody save me.
I lost my job, they kicked me out of my tree.
Somebody save me – save me.

 Everybody’s got opinions,
but nobody’s got the answers.
And the s*** you ate for breakfast,
well it’ll only give ya cancer.

We’re runnin’ in a circle,
runnin’ to the mornin’ light.
And if ya ain’t quite workable,
it’s been one hell of a night.

Somebody get the doctor,
I think I’m gonna crash.
Never paid the bill,
because I ain’t got the cash.

Somebody save me.
I lost my job, they kicked me out of my tree.
Somebody save me – save me.

Have you accepted Christ as your Savior?

If you would like to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, please pray the following prayer:

“God, I believe in you and your son Jesus Christ.  I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave to save me. Today, I invite Jesus into my heart to stay.  I make you Lord over my life. Make me new. Wash me, Lord, and cleanse me. In Jesus Name, Amen”

If you have just prayed that prayer, we want to celebrate your new victory with you.  Please contact us at prayers@oceanfloorministries.com so we can welcome you into the kingdom.  We don’t want you to have to walk alone and we have some resources we would like the opportunity to share with you.

We aren’t saved by a prayer, we’re saved by faith, believing Jesus has died for us. Salvation is only in Jesus.
If God were to ask you, “Why should I let you into heaven?” The answer is “Because Jesus died for my sins”
    Ephesians 2:8-9 John 3:17

      John 3:16 as well.

I guess I’d be interested to know what led you to believe it was ONLY the prayer that was referred to… The prayer of Salvation does cover Romans 10:9-10. But of course, that declaration and acceptance of Christ (knowing that HE is the only reason we are provided with the Grace needed to enter Heaven) is only the beginning of our journey.

If it’s not evident that the prayer of Salvation is only the beginning and a declaration of faith in Christ, we apologize that wasn’t evident.

      Thanks for the comment.
